Please read these notes for clarification if you are confused. These notes were sent to me by Sasquatch from the Tenacious D board (AST).-----I don't know what you used to transfer threads, but if it was the same thing I used then it doesn't transfer actual user accounts along with it -- just the screen-names, and only the names of users who posted in threads that you transferred. What this means is that if people want to log in with their old name, you have to assign them a temporary password in the User Control Panel -- once they log in with that, they can change their password and proceed. (A lot of people on AST just decided to create a new name and start a new account instead of bother with this hassle.) ONLY users who posted in threads that were transfered will be in the new phpbb user database, so if someone from the old board who didn't post in a long time wants to log into the new board, he will probably just have to create a new account with his username (if his name is taken, that means it's in the database -- which means he did post in a thread that was transferred -- and you need to give him a temp. password).
